My Top 10 Hair Band 80's Rock Albums Of All Time!

Remember not too long ago the days of the 80's? I do. Those were the best of times to be in High School and to be a long haired rock and roll drummer! We had our acid washed jeans. We had our ripped jeans with the white strands showing. Girls tried to get the front of their hair higher and higher. Hair spray industries boomed because the men loved this product too! Oh yes I recall all of this. In fact, I want these days to come back!

But the music was the best! To name a few bands (maybe not all of them on my top 10 but all worth mentioning at least)- Poison, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Slaughter, Warrant, Trixter, Skid Row, and oh so many others! But I am here to list MY TOP 10 80's Rock Albums! Oh my! Here we go...

#10. Winger- Winger. Was the world ready for the rugged look of Kip? Man I wanted to be him! Of course this album only had a few hits though. But they were ones you had to have! "Seventeen", "Hungry" and "Madalaine". The ballad "Headed For A Heartbreak" and the remake of "Purple Haze". Wow!

#9. Warrant- Dirty Rotten Filthy Sticking Rich. Was this not a great album? Who can forget them dropping to their knees and head banging to slow rhythm of "Down Boys"? Or the two famous ballads of "Heaven" and "Sometimes She Cries". It was the debut album for an 80's band well remembered by all. And they weren't a one hit wonder!

#8. White Lion- Pride. For sure a must have here folks. The tracks we all know: "Wait", "Hungry", "Tell Me" and let us not forget the ballad of "When the Children Cry"! Just a great album and a group that was soon forgotten! But a big part of the 80's!

#7. Whitesnake- Whitesnake. That's right. You know this album. Not their debut, but the one that made them known! Name one track on that album not worth listening to? You can't! The heavy guitar riff in "Still of the Night". The ballad of "Is This Love" and the first release that reached number one on the charts of "Here I Go Again". And who can forget Tawny Kitten(spelling right?) throwing herself around on the car for this video! Woo Hoo! Then take the deeper tracks of "Crying in the Rain" and "Don't Turn Away". Just a great album with Coverdale showing his powerful voice. A must have for 80's lovers!

#6. Def Leppard- Hysteria. The long lasting Def Leppard must make this list. Joe Elliot in his faded ripped jeans for this album is a stand out for this music! The trying time they went though. The 3 and 1/2 years it took for this album! Worth it? Yes! "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Love Bites", "Animal", "Hysteria", and "Armageddon It". Yes, this album said something about them. It said We are here to stay!

#5. Trixter- Trixter. Probably a very under rated group. But a few tracks you all knew. "One In A Million", "Surrender", "Only One Young Once" (almost sound like Bon Jovi in this song). And the first well known song of "Give It To Me Good". Then take the deep track no one really knows but should of "You'll Never See Me Cryin'". Just another 80's great sounding album!

#4. Skid Row- Skid Row. Sebastian Bach, a bad boy of the 80's. Who else jumped off stage to kick a guy's teeth out? But not why this album is great. It is great because of tracks like "Youth Gone Wild" and "18 And Life". Then take the ballad forever known "I Remember You" and then add the heavier tracks of "Piece Of Me" and "Sweet Little Sister". And none of the other songs disappoint! A must 80's collection piece!

#3. Slaughter- Stick It To Ya. The debut song of "Up All Night". Then add track like "Mad About You", "Eye To Eye", "Spend My Life" and "Burnin Bridges". And we can't forget the ballad of "Fly to the Angles" can we? No we can't. You take the image they went for here and you sum up the 80's. Great album from start to end. Nothing in between lets you down!

#2. Bon Jovi- Slippery When Wet. Of course they have to make it. "You Give Love A Bad Name" just flew through this world and the ears of people and they took to them. From there we move to "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "Wild in the Streets", and "Livin on a Prayer". And yes this album is complete with a ballad as well- "Never Say Goodbye". and yes the ladies just loved this man didn't they! Sheesh! My wife did!

#1. Poison- Open Up and Say Ahh and Look What the Cat Dragged In. Yes they both make it. And yes Poison is number one because without Poison there would be no 80's. They made the 80's what it was and is. The songs "Talk Dirty To Me", "I Won't Forget You", "Cry Tough" and the other album with "Fallen Angel", "Your Mama Don't Dance", "Nothin But A Good Time" (which is what they had), "Every Rose Has It's Thorn". They just represent the 80's. They had the hair, the looks, the songs and the followers!

So there it is. My representation of the 80's. Some of you wish to forget them. But I don't. I listen to these groups as well as all the other honorable mentions (Britney Fox, Tesla, Stryper, XYZ, Firehouse and those listed above).

So get the hair spray. Put on them acid washed ripped jeans and sing along! And if you want to cheat, most groups now have Greatest Hits out from all their stuff. Here you will find the combo from all the best songs from all the albums. But you really lose those deeper not as well known track.
