Aprendemos fazendo ... We learn better when we do it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Comece a se arriscar. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Primeiro com uma palavra </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Depois com uma frase </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Quem sabe uma idéia</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Use seu professor como cobaia </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Use a internet como laboratório </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="color: #3a453b; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: PT-BR;">Tuning é estudar, as a learner, que todos nos
absorvemos as coisas do mundo no nosso ritmo.

</span><b><span lang="EN-US" style="color: #3a453b; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: PT-BR;">Are you like that? </span></b><b><span style="color: #3a453b; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: PT-BR;">Do you really

<div class="text_exposed_root text_exposed" style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="text_exposed_root text_exposed" style="text-align: justify;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Do you know what I mean?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Are you like that? Do you really have patience with your classmates?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

É Dia dos Namorados, dear learners, The Valentine's Day.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYzgPov8iAxLQgwQXsufCZj95dXNSNvgZWCUaGAwvn1uDwpWub9YH5ZAbugzk2_jLEONsT77W9R0iVtnwXE10OcqBFRKNWAAgImbUUyEAlAvcxhGIlJg70H5SXKArG4o40tsiI-2XBGtj9/s1600/happy-valentines-day-images-couple-romance.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYzgPov8iAxLQgwQXsufCZj95dXNSNvgZWCUaGAwvn1uDwpWub9YH5ZAbugzk2_jLEONsT77W9R0iVtnwXE10OcqBFRKNWAAgImbUUyEAlAvcxhGIlJg70H5SXKArG4o40tsiI-2XBGtj9/s320/happy-valentines-day-images-couple-romance.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
“ Damm it! Friendship? Really?<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
PS: e o Valentino, teacher?<br />
<br />
The Valentine's Day" ?<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiohHWpgD72RF6iu8yIyhOpih_yn-ZvCC4ZDqr7IbrA434FvH5Q3wjMYJhDK3JT2Zx7lidm5U0HmKz6uKpfsCsh_c2P6l1d8gDhspizoHYtRYHJdD698McoPsdiiSfzvigdUP0zbA84irew/s1600/comer-em-ingles.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="193" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiohHWpgD72RF6iu8yIyhOpih_yn-ZvCC4ZDqr7IbrA434FvH5Q3wjMYJhDK3JT2Zx7lidm5U0HmKz6uKpfsCsh_c2P6l1d8gDhspizoHYtRYHJdD698McoPsdiiSfzvigdUP0zbA84irew/s320/comer-em-ingles.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Paula vivia engolindo palavras.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A cada frase, ela engolia algo.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>1. I enjoying this class, teacher! (engoliu o to be)</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>2. We didn't the homework, teacher! ( engoliu o to do)</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>3. I will the article, teacher! ( engoliu o to read)</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Usar a intonação</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Usar a respiração</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. Usar as pausas</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. Por fim, treinar, treinar e treinar</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>- Você não vai conseguir, pelo menos agora, reproduzir a velocidade da sua fala nativa em inglês - eu disse - Para começar o " recast", você precisa falar devagar e com atenção, dear.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>- Eu sei, teacher. Mas eu ainda não consigo evitar. Quando eu vejo, já engoli as palavras.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
O segredo é o prestar atenção.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNXrYpPVSqG000XyE12nkpC0oV85reQSer-6io_VhWHxpzOkknfBNsTdwkoLDfSSg2nHSL0J5P_S44co1MX6r2Adz346Tncw94GcaGb0jTt2k3LT8thYTP8NtlotB7SmA9eoAJ3EfV4yig/s1600/6a0133f45b4586970b0147e16f1708970b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="202" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNXrYpPVSqG000XyE12nkpC0oV85reQSer-6io_VhWHxpzOkknfBNsTdwkoLDfSSg2nHSL0J5P_S44co1MX6r2Adz346Tncw94GcaGb0jTt2k3LT8thYTP8NtlotB7SmA9eoAJ3EfV4yig/s320/6a0133f45b4586970b0147e16f1708970b.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>- I AM enjoying this class, teacher - disse Paula - I didn't...( som de respiração)...do...my homework, but I will...( pausa) read ( pausa) the articles. E aí consegui?</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>- Well done! - eu disse e ela começou a pular de alegria, dizendo:</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>- I got! I got! - disse Paula, por fim, celebrando a sua vitória e esquecendo de colocar o " it " no fim dos seus " GOTs".</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes...treinar, treinar e treinar.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- I would like to talk about my …my… my…</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Where está a palavra? A palavra sumiu!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- Teacher? Como eu falo emprego em inglês?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Como podemos descrever anything em inglês. Veja a seguir:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- I would like to talk about my...well, you know, the place where you work.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- Your JOB!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- That’s right! I would like to talk about my job.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What does it look like? It’s small, with eight hairy legs.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>How big is it? (What size is it?) It’s 3 meters, by 4 meters, by 5 meters.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>How much does it weigh? It weighs 25 kilograms.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What color is it? It’s bright yellow, brighter than a banana.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What’s it made out of? It’s made of plastic and aluminum.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What is it? It's a musical instrument.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What does it do? It puts a sharp point on wooden pencils.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What the purpose of (... a refrigerator)? The purpose of a refrigerator is to keep food cold so it does not spoil.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What do you use a (... peeler) for? A peeler is used to remove the skin of fruits or vegetables.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
•<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>How does a (... water heater) work? Water is collected in a large tank and heated by either gas or electricity.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- Ah, teacher, traduz isso ai, vai?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
OK, deixa eu tentar de outra forma. Podemos descrever alguma coisa baseado em:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1JkX_4KLHu68Rxba6C1RCR2QLzlod_7G8KuQMmvIkS1-G6CZ14fkbw7xEQ7IzDFiYKLtpTj6eU42PkPxUadrQbwJ4nJtsi2Pniu_7zrbc3CnJt29FVLn9vkLmxWsmUAU18Hu-QsJP9VVz/s1600/as.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="350" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1JkX_4KLHu68Rxba6C1RCR2QLzlod_7G8KuQMmvIkS1-G6CZ14fkbw7xEQ7IzDFiYKLtpTj6eU42PkPxUadrQbwJ4nJtsi2Pniu_7zrbc3CnJt29FVLn9vkLmxWsmUAU18Hu-QsJP9VVz/s400/as.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
As Frases em exemplo seguem em geral a estrutura abaixo:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>sujeito + verbo to be + used to/for + verbo + outros</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Podemos ainda descrever objetos baseados em:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>- Posições</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It is like that, inside you can read what is written on it, outside is covered by a thick cover, we can handle it and you can buy it in all shapes and formats and people need it to pray and so on and so forth.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b> </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>- Conexão entre as partes</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Ex: it (the wire) leads from the switch to the bulb.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimTXhjxFjtn7h3ydUlRM6Lq_BJGMDyyc83Wxmd2VHa7Ipj8ZNWfAh1ZGZhcV_pcJ1_P9UTCHehtb5vKBlUXflBmr7PRdAKb7GYVzt-PBhGTwUShGF4f06aTwtfVc4C105iO4hBZ3eM6bib/s1600/as2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimTXhjxFjtn7h3ydUlRM6Lq_BJGMDyyc83Wxmd2VHa7Ipj8ZNWfAh1ZGZhcV_pcJ1_P9UTCHehtb5vKBlUXflBmr7PRdAKb7GYVzt-PBhGTwUShGF4f06aTwtfVc4C105iO4hBZ3eM6bib/s400/as2.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A aluna nada responde.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
O apresentador muda a pergunta:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Se o aluno está praticando e aprendendo, what is the big issue?
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
...O apresentador faz a pergunta:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVfKYTiMZEExSHcoH7Wo_7cDBDmA0N2ms1SjapuMF_BaeDqw4O4CCkHTLycBjUPvxzbFdPWh8dXyzn3n4EWkXTkNMs4q5fU8jBrNLQl8DIQckUGJPwkT5XABTd-cMDmpiHgMK2ypxsqm5r/s1600/the-official-politically-correct-dictionary-and-handbook-by-henry-beard-and-christopher-cerf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVfKYTiMZEExSHcoH7Wo_7cDBDmA0N2ms1SjapuMF_BaeDqw4O4CCkHTLycBjUPvxzbFdPWh8dXyzn3n4EWkXTkNMs4q5fU8jBrNLQl8DIQckUGJPwkT5XABTd-cMDmpiHgMK2ypxsqm5r/s320/the-official-politically-correct-dictionary-and-handbook-by-henry-beard-and-christopher-cerf.jpg" width="256" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>O politicamente correto ataca palavras sexistas</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Aliás, a própria palavra <b>humanity</b> corre perigo porque tem <b>man</b> no meio.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Para evitar atrito </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Inglês politicamente correto</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>1 – Animais, carros, navios e países</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Exemplos:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) I have a rabbit. <b>He</b> lives…</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(Tenho um coelho. <b>Ele</b> mora…)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
b) Find the cat and put <b>her</b> out.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(Encontre a gata e coloque-<b>a</b> para fora.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nessa situação, <b>who (quem/que,</b> usado para pessoas) é usado ao invés de <b>which(quem/que</b>, para coisas) como em <b>My sister had an old cat who always slept in her bed </b>(Minha irmã tinha um gato que dormia na cama dela).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Algumas pessoas empregam <b>she </b>para carros, motocicletas etc. Os marinheiros usam<b> she </b>para barcos e navios (mais muitas pessoas usam <b>it</b>).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Exemplos:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) How is your car? ~ Terrific. <b>She</b>‘s running beautifully.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(Como está seu carro? ~ Filezinho. <b>Ele</b> está funcionando maravilhosamente.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
b) The ship’s struck a rock. <b>She</b>‘s sinking.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(O navio se chocou contra uma rocha. <b>Ele </b>está afundando.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
No inglês moderno, é comum usar<b> she</b> para países. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Exemplo:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) Brazil has decided to increase<b> its</b> trade with Argentina. (ou… <b>her </b>trade…)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>2 – He or she</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tradicionalmente, a língua inglesa usa os pronomes <b>he/him/his </b>quando o <b>sexo</b> de uma pessoa não é conhecido ou em referências que podem ser aplicadas tanto a homem quanto a mulher, principalmente no inglês formal.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Exemplos:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) If a worker is ill, <b>he</b> must send <b>his</b> medical certificate to the personnel department.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
b) If I <b><a href="http://www.inglesnosupermercado.com.br/english-usage-13-empregos-da-palavra-ever-e-algo-mais/#axzz0gs2GMY5v" target="_blank">ever</a></b> find the person who did that, I’ll kill <b>him.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Muitas pessoas consideram sexista esse emprego tradicional e tenta evitá-lo. <b>He or she, him or her e his or her</b> são mais comuns agora no inglês politicamente correto como em <b>If a worker is ill, he or she must send a medical certificate</b>(Se um trabalhador adoecer, <b>ele ou ela</b> devem enviar um certificado médico).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>3 – O pronome “they” unissex</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Exemplos:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) If anybody wants my ticket, <b>they </b>can have it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
b) There’s somebody at the door. ~Tell <b>them </b>I’m out.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(Tem alguém na (à) porta. ~ Diga a <b>ele</b> que estou fora.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>4 – Actor and actrees</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
No português e no inglês, algumas profissões têm diferentes palavras para homens e mulheres. Exemplos:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>5 – Palavras terminadas com “-man”</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Exemplos:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) Alice has just been elected <b>chairperson</b> (or chair) of our committee.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
b) The <b>spokesperson </b>said that the Minister does not intend to resign.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>6 – Man, Mankind</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Exemplos:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) Why does <b>man</b> have more diseases than animals?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
b) That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for <b>mankind.</b> (Neil Armstrong)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>7 – Titles – Pronomes de tratamento</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ex.:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is my house. (Esta é minha casa).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That is Peter’s house and this is mine. (Aquela é a casa do Peter e esta é a minha).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
No exemplo citado acima, “my” vem acompanhado do substantivo “house”.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
São possessive adjectives e possessive pronouns:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Possesive Adjective Possessive Pronoun</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My book (meu livro) Mine (o meu / a minha)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
His backpack (mochila dele) His (a dele / o dele)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Her dress (vestido dela) Hers (a dela/ o dela)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Its house (casa dele/a – usado para neutro e animais) Its (o dele/ a dele / o dela/ a dela - neutro e animais)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our TV (nossa televisão) Ours (o nosso / a nossa)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Their pens (canetas deles/delas) Theirs (os deles/ as deles/ os delas/ as delas)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ex.:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My book is new. (Meu livro é novo).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Your pencil is under the table. (Seu lápis está debaixo da mesa).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
His backpack is brand-new. (A mochila dele é novíssima).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- Which pizza is yours? The cheese or the pepperoni?
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- The cheese is mine and the pepperoni is hers.

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have to take the kids to school. [Tenho de levar as crianças para a escola.]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Rafael took us to the airport. [Rafael levou a gente ao aeroporto.]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
‘Take‘ ainda pode significar ‘tomar‘.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Take an aspirin. [Tome uma aspirina.]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Will you take the job? [Você vai aceitar o emprego?]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Do you take Visa? [Vocês aceitam Visa?]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you take my advice, you’ll see a doctor.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Além destas combinações há várias outras. Você pode dizer ‘take a bus‘ [pegar um ônibus], ‘take a taxi‘ [pegar um táxi], ‘take a plane‘ [pegar um avião]. Tem também ‘take‘ com o sentido de ‘estudar’: ‘take English‘ [estudar inglês], ‘take French‘ [estudar francês], ‘take Math‘ [estudar matemática].

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDSZakhCyuL4ZQVVD5_cAqjm1wkofYGSCSLTL_k5CJI-KK1qiYtD1ctELr8GsTnq6fdv_9AIWH_me0RR-RBGirH-9cs26m2AH3f5T03jLKL3G_i0GGlmtrDBdErlX4a0aUL8rWZR6F5F7/s1600/maxresdefault+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDSZakhCyuL4ZQVVD5_cAqjm1wkofYGSCSLTL_k5CJI-KK1qiYtD1ctELr8GsTnq6fdv_9AIWH_me0RR-RBGirH-9cs26m2AH3f5T03jLKL3G_i0GGlmtrDBdErlX4a0aUL8rWZR6F5F7/s320/maxresdefault+%25281%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Veja abaixo algumas dessas traduções: Make = 1 fazer 2 construir 3 criar 4 elaborar 5 compor 6 efetuar 7 preparar</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Do = 1 fazer, executar, efetuar, trabalhar 2 acabar, pôr fim a 3 preparar 4 interpretar 5 criar 6 causar 7 render</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Caros Learners,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>- Hi Frank, </i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>How have you been doing? I hope all is ok.</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>I don’t know if you know but I was fired from my last job last November, but thanks God I was employed last month by a Germany Company and nowadays I am in charge of a Solar Energy department as Project Coordinator (tks God).</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>The days are going by too fast, but I will never forget you and all teachers who helped me to get where I am. </i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>Today morning “like an early bird” (after lots of e-mails sent), I wrote an e-mail to a company from Texas with as follow;</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>"Dear Aaron, good morning.</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>I would be grateful if you could send me your quotation for these items by today afternoon. Please let me know if you need any further information."</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>30 minutes later, he replied me;</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>"Dear Leandro, I have the Quote ready, I am waiting on FedEx to get me a freight quote. I apologize for the Delay. I am at their mercy"</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>When I read “I am at their mercy”, I thought what does it means (wtf rsrs)??? I have never listened/read/seen and so on….. this before …… I immediately start googling it (“googling” is it possible?). </i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>What I want to say is, you and “A Frank Experience” taught me how to be a learner and minutes later I got what he was trying to say. </i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>So, I am deeply grateful for everything I have learned on your English classes. I miss you my friend.</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i>May God be blessing you for many years ahead and giving you the wisdom to continue on teaching and teaching.</i></b></div>

<i>- Hi Leandro,</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Secondly, teaching people how to communicate their ideas and how to be understood - this is my personal goal and this is the target of my school. I get really glad to hear this very thing from you. </i></div>

<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Finally, your feedback is the fuel I need to keep working hard to empower people to have their voices respected in English. </i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>- Two corrections only:</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>1. Change " Today morning" for " this morning";</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>2. "What does that means" for "What does that mean ( no S)" </i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>All the rest is a great piece of text. Congratulations!</i></div>

<br />
When you are learning English, it is very important to use and practise your English as often as possible. If you are studying in a school, you have some good opportunities to practise. But what can you do after school, or if you are studying alone, to continue practising?<br />
<br />
In fact there are many things that you can do outside school to improve your English. Let us consider the 4 skills that you need to develop to use a language well:<br />
<br />
1.LISTENING<br />
2.SPEAKING<br />
3.READING<br />
4.WRITING<br />
Here are some of the ways you can improve these skills outside school:<br />
<br />
LISTENING<br />
Listening to English is one of the most important things you can do to improve your English. Do not try too hard to understand everything. Just listen and you will soon understand. You have several possibilities:<br />
<br />
CDs, MP3 and Podcasts<br />
Listening to songs can be useful in helping you to "feel" the language. It does not matter if you do not understand everything.<br />
<br />
Television<br />
On television, you have a big choice of programmes: films, chat shows, documentaries, news. In many parts of the world you can watch English-language television, for example:<br />
<br />
•BBC<br />
•CNN<br />
Many television stations have Internet sites which give details of frequencies.<br />
<br />
Radio<br />
This is another excellent way to practise your English. Here are 2 stations that you can listen to world-wide:<br />
<br />
•BBC World Service<br />
•Voice of America<br />
Films<br />
You can watch films in English on video at home. In some countries, you can watch films in English at the cinema. Watching with video is a very good method because you can replay parts that you do not understand. If you watch a video with English sub-titles, you can cover the sub-titles with paper. Then, if there are some words that you really do not understand, you can remove the paper and look at the sub-title. But be careful! The sub-titles are not always an exact translation.<br />
<br />
SPEAKING<br />
Speaking English is one thing that you cannot do alone!<br />
<br />
You can listen to English alone.<br />
You can read English alone.<br />
You can write English alone.<br />
<br />
But, you run a serious risk if you speak to yourself in English! That is why you should speak as much as possible at school where there are people to speak to.<br />
<br />
How can you speak English outside school?<br />
<br />
That depends on where you are. But you should make a big effort to find somebody for conversation practice. In a large city, it should not be difficult to find people who speak good English. You can put an advertisement in a local newspaper. There may even be some English or American pubs or clubs where people speak English. You may find an English person, for example, who wants to practise your language. Then you can do a conversation exchange. Outside the big cities, you need to be more imaginative. Perhaps you can use the telephone. Or even the Internet, if you are equipped with an Internet phone.<br />
<br />
READING<br />
Reading is an excellent way to learn new vocabulary. But you need to read the right level of English. If it is too difficult, you may become discouraged. If it is too easy, you will make no progress. Try to read something that is slightly above your level. Try to understand the meaning of a new word from the context. If you really cannot understand, use a dictionary and record the word.<br />
<br />
What can you read? Well, there is no shortage of reading material: books, poetry, newspapers, magazines, Internet.<br />
<br />
There are so many books - fact or fiction - that it should not be difficult to find something suitable. Perhaps you already have some books in English. Or take a look in a library or bookshop. In many cities you can use the library of the British Council.<br />
<br />
Some publishers produce 'simple' books for beginners. They are short, simplified stories. Usually they have notes and explanations.<br />
<br />
We also have some short stories and classic texts in English Club English Reading with notes to help you.<br />
<br />
Newspapers<br />
You can learn a lot of new vocabulary from a newspaper. You can find British or American newspapers in all the big cities of the world. Some countries publish special English-language papers: the 'Bangkok Post' in Thailand or the 'Straits Times' in Singapore, for example.<br />
<br />
Here are some British and American newspapers. They are available at news-stands in big cities and at airports and main railway stations.<br />
<br />
British:<br />
<br />
•The Times<br />
•The Telegraph<br />
•The Financial Times (especially for business)<br />
•The European (weekly - especially about Europe)<br />
•'The Sunday Times' (weekly)<br />
American:<br />
<br />
•International Herald Tribune<br />
•Washington Post<br />
Magazines<br />
Try reading a magazine regularly. You can subscribe to a magazine and have it delivered anywhere in the world.<br />
<br />
•Time (general interest)<br />
•Newsweek (news)<br />
•The Economist (business)<br />
•Cosmopolitan (fashion, leisure)<br />
<br />
WRITING<br />
Practise your English by writing letters to a pen friend. Today, with the Internet, this is very easy. You can exchange letters by email. To find a pen friend from anywhere in the world, check out English Club ESL Forums.<br />
There are several communities as well on the What'sApp.<br />

Bem, isto é a teoria.<br />

A sala estava cheia.
<br />
Desta vez, a audiência tinha declinado consideravelmente.
<br />
Bem assim, do nada, a coisa mudou.
<br />
E eu podia desfrutar do privilégio praticamente sozinho. Do Texas.

No cinema é a mesma coisa.
<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"></span><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Phone answering skills are critical for businesses. The telephone is still most business's primary point of contact with customers. And the way you answer your company's phone will form your customer's first impression of your business. These phone answering tips will ensure that callers know they're dealing with a winning business:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1) Answer all incoming phone calls before the third ring.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2) When you answer the phone, be warm and enthusiastic. Your voice at the end of the telephone line is sometimes the only impression of your company a caller will get.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3) When answering the phone, welcome callers courteously and identify yourself and your organization. Say, for instance, "Good morning. Cypress Technologies. Susan speaking. How may I help you?" No one should ever have to ask if they've reached such and such a business.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4) Enunciate clearly, keep your voice volume moderate, and speak slowly and clearly when answering the phone, so your caller can understand you easily.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5) Control your language when answering the phone. Don't use slang or jargon. Instead of saying, "OK", or "No problem", for instance, say "Certainly", "Very well", or "All right". If you're a person who uses fillers when you speak, such as "uh huh", "um", or phrases such as "like" or "you know", train yourself carefully not to use these when you speak on the phone.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6) Train your voice and vocabulary to be positive when phone answering, even on a "down" day. For example, rather than saying, "I don't know", say, "Let me find out about that for you."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
7) Take telephone messages completely and accurately. If there's something you don't understand or can't spell, such as a person's surname, ask the caller to repeat it or spell it for you. Then make sure the message gets to the intended recipient.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
8) Answer all your calls within one business day. I can't emphasize this one enough. Remember the early bird? The early caller can get the contract, the sale, the problem solved... and reinforce the favorable impression of your business that you want to circulate.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
9) Always ask the caller if it's all right to put her on hold when answering the phone, and don't leave people on hold. Provide callers on hold with progress reports every 30 to 45 seconds. Offer them choices if possible, such as "That line is still busy. Will you continue to hold or should I have ________ call you back?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
10) Don't use a speaker phone unless absolutely necessary. Speaker phones give the caller the impression that you're not fully concentrating on his call, and make him think that his call isn't private. The only time to use a speaker phone is when you need more than one person to be in on the conversation at your end.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
11) If you use an answering machine to answer calls when you can't, make sure that you have a professional message recorded, that does the same thing as tip # 3, and gives callers any other pertinent information before it records their messages. Update your answering machine message as needed. For instance, if your business is going to be closed for a holiday, update your recorded answering machine message to say so and to say when your business will reopen.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
12) Train everyone else who answers the phone to answer the same way, including other family members if you're running a home-based business. Check on how your business's phone is being answered by calling in and seeing if the phone is being answered in a professional manner. If they don't pass the test, go over this telephone answering tips list with them to make sure that everyone at your business knows how to answer the phone properly.</div>

<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">It é um mistério. Veja esses exemplos abaixo:</span></div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">

<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">IT is hot</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">IT was cool</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">IT will be very good</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">IT rains a lot</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">IT depends on you</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">IT tales an hour to get home</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">It won't last forever.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">- Você gosta dessa canção?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">- Não, não gosto! Na verdade, odeio.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">Em inglês, ficaria:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">- Do you like this song?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">- No, I don't. Actually, I hate IT.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
Segue explicação abaixo do professor Denilson do site " Inglês na Ponta da Língua"</div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
Actually, I love to study English”. No entanto, como não é preciso ficar repetindo tudo, dizemos apenas “I love it”. "</div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">- Quanto tempo leva para chegar no aeroporto?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">- Chove muito por lá?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">- foi difícil chegar na festa?</span></div>
</div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">

<br />
A persistência deste hábito entretanto é
sintoma de que algo vai mal. Revela que o direcionamento, a estratégia de
aprendizado está errada.<br />
<br />
<br />
Ensinar a traduzir rapidamente
<br />
estudos no Brasil, ilustra bem o problema:<br />
<br />
In my case, I had a hard time becoming fluent in the second language because of
the interference of two factors. The first factor was learning strategy, which
was translating (L2 to L1 to L2 again) due the fact that my foreign language
classes focused on The Grammar Translation approach. It was a slow strategy
that caused me a lot of headaches and frustration. I spent a whole year
translating while I was an exchange student. The second interference was low
self-esteem, the belief of not being able to produce L2, due to the oppressed
education I experienced in undergraduate school in Brazil. Professors believed
that low grades reflect a hard school (meaning "good"), so nothing
was good enough. Undergraduate students got to graduation scared to use the
target language. (Disponível em: <a href="http://pegasus.cc.ucf.edu/~gurney/LangConn.htm">http://pegasus.cc.ucf.edu/~gurney/LangConn.htm</a>).<br />
<br />
<br />

<span style="line-height: 19.3199996948242px;">Received Pronunciation, often abbreviated to RP, is an accent of spoken English. Unlike other UK accents, it's identified not so much with a particular region as with a particular social group, although it has connections with the accent of Southern England. RP is associated with educated speakers and formal speech. It has connotations of prestige and authority, but also of privilege and arrogance.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.3199996948242px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.3199996948242px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.3199996948242px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.3199996948242px;">Some people even think that the name 'Received Pronunciation' is a problem - if only some accents or pronunciations are 'received', then the implication is that others should be rejected or refused.When writing his pronouncing dictionary in 1916, phonetician Daniel Jones described RP as the accent "most usually heard in everyday speech in the families of Southern English persons whose menfolk have been educated at the great public boarding schools". Although this description would raise a few eyebrows today, RP is still the accent generally represented in dictionaries which give pronunciations, and it's also used as a model for the teaching of English as a foreign language.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.3199996948242px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 19.3199996948242px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.3199996948242px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
Perhaps for this reason, RP is often thought of as an unchanging accent; a standard against which other accents can be measured or judged. Some people don't even think of it as an accent at all, but rather a way of speaking without an accent.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.3199996948242px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.3199996948242px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">
Speaking without an accent, though, would be like painting without a colour! In fact, there is considerable variation within groups of people who are said to speak RP, the term is differently interpreted by different people, and RP itself has changed considerably over time.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.3199996948242px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: justify;">

<span style="color: black;">What are the factors that influence us to say "yes"?<br /><br />There are some researches about it. We can think when someone makes a decision consider all available informations, but the reality is very different. Our life is overloaded than we need shortcuts to guide our decision-making.<br /><br />There are six shortcuts: reciprocity, scarcity, authority, consistency, liking and consensus.<br /><br />1. Reciprocity: obligation to give when you receive. Be the first to give, personalized and unexpected.<br /><br />2. Scarcity: people want more of those things there are less of. The benefits are very important but what's unique and what they stand to lose are much more important to persuad.<br /><br />3. Authority: people will follow credible, knowledgeable and experts. Diplomas, uniforms, credentials and expertise influence people.<br /><br />4. Consistency: looking for and asking for commitments that can be made.<br /><br />5. Liking: there are 3 important factors. We like people who:<br /> - are similar to us<br /> - pay us compliments<br /> - cooperate with us<br /><br />6. Consensus: people will look to the actions of others to determine their own.</span><br /><br />Watch the video that inspired this homework!<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Experts say that several obvious differences in people affect what they find humorous. The most significant seems to be age.<br />
<br />
Infants and children are constantly discovering the world around them. A lot of what goes on seems ridiculous and surprising, which strikes them as funny. What's funny to a toddler consists of short and simple concepts, like an elephant joke. Along with the ridiculous and the surprising, children -- much to their parents' dismay -- also appreciate jokes where cruelty is present (it boosts their self-assertiveness) and what we refer to as "toilet humor." To children, a preoccupation with bodily functions is simply another way of exploring their fascinating new environment.<br />
<br />
The pre-teen and teenage years are, almost universally, awkward and tense. Lots of adolescents and teens laugh at jokes that focus on sex, food, authority figures and -- in typical rebellious style -- any subject that adults consider off-limits. It is an insecure time of life and young people often use humor as a tool to protect themselves or to feel superior.<br />
<br />
As we mature, both our physical bodies and mental outlooks grow and change. Since there is a certain amount of intelligence involved in "getting" a joke, our senses of humor becomes more developed as we learn more. By the time we're grown, we have experienced much of life, including tragedy and success. In keeping with these experiences, our senses of humor are more mature. We laugh at other people and ourselves in shared common predicaments and embarrassments. The adult sense of humor is usually characterized as more subtle, more tolerant and less judgmental about the differences in people. The things we find funny as a result of our age or developmental stage seem to be related to the stressors we experience during this time. Basically, we laugh at the issues that stress us out.<br />
<br />
Another factor that affects what we find funny is the culture or community from which we come. Have you ever laughed at a joke and realized that if you were from anywhere else in the world, it just wouldn't be funny? It's a fact of life that culture and community provide lots of fodder for jokes. There are economic, political and social issues that are easy to laugh about, but only the people living in that culture may understand it. For example, a joke from a small country might not have universal appeal because it would be so little understood. The big, influential, much-observed United States might be the exception to this rule.<br />
<br />
Thanks to media and movies, most people around the world know what is going on here. So jokes about a situation in the United States can be enjoyed pretty much across the globe.<br />
When people say "That's not funny," theorist Veatch says they mean either "It is offensive" or "So, what's the point?" For someone to find a joke or situation offensive, he must have some attachment to the principle or person being demeaned or put down in the joke. So racist and sexist jokes are offensive to many people who feel strongly about fighting bigotry and prejudice in the world. According to Veatch, when someone says, "So, what's the point?" it indicates the absence of any moral or emotional attachment or commitment to the joke's "victim."<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started my ride after the Parliament for the “Platz Der Replublik”, indeed, it is a simple garden without flowers, just some trees and grass, what really worth over there is the all sight of the Parliament building.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After that, I crossed the street after post this garden and I started my journey at the “Tiergarten”, this one a real garden, or rather a park, I’m not sure, but it should be the lungs of the city, because it’s really huge. The first building that I saw in the middle of trees was an Olympic cauldron, I honestly can’t tell you if it really was, but it looked like one….lolol…A little bit forward, I’ve found the “Haus Der Kulturen Welt”, the place is very beautiful, there are a kind lake in front of the construction, the building resembles a concert hall. But, the biggest and best surprise I had when I crossed the lake and walked around the building, It had a sort of balcony that overlooked to the Spree River and downstairs there was a bar with a gorgeous people, good humored, of course, that I stopped over there for a little time to take some beer and eat a sausage…lol…So I’ve followed my way around the Tiergaten searching the “Siegessaule”, a statue in front of the Brandenburg Tor, in the middle of the Tiergarten. I arrived for the left side of the River, with a wonderful Palace called “Bellevue Palace” which they told me it was the official residence of the German President, any time I will ask for him….lolol…when I turned left I could see the “Siegessaule”, a wonderful statue, huge, well preserved and surrounded by great monuments, a really beautiful place. To get closer to the statue you have to cross through underground galleries, clean and with interactive panels.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Still on Sunday, I am sure you can realise that it was a huge and interesting day….lolol….after the visit of the “Siegassaule”, I sat down on stairs to plan my next destination, so I’ve decided to cross the “Tiergaten” through the “Fasaneriealle”, an wonderful diagonal alley that it finished on the Zoo-Aquarium Berlin. It was sunset and the day it was very bright and sunny, the ride became even more pleasant, The Alley was very interesting, a lot of statues and even dedications like to Michael Jackson for example. At the end of the Alley, in front of the exit of the park is the “Spanische Botschaft”, a gorgeous place and, the best, on the other side of the Consulate I found my first “Biergarten” in Berlin, I had only seen in Munich, of course, I did a stopped over there to enjoy the local customs. Then I went back to my way, crossed a bridge over a river, that honestly I didn’t know the name, but I think to be an arm of the Spree River, by the way, an interesting place because the bridge is divided, and a part belongs to the Zoo and another not. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After the bridge, I turned to the left, walked around part of the Zoo and ended the day making my first contact with the famous “Kurfürstendamm”, where all the luxury brands of the world are. The place is very beautiful, the street is well wooded and pretty much elegant. I was there for some time (I’ll speak better about this place), I got in to know the KaDeWe and then, for the first time in Berlin, I took the Underground (the “Tube” over there) going back to my local home….lolo….</div>
